The Vampire and the Virgin by Kerrelyn Sparks

Robert Alexander McKay, also known by his friends and family as Robby, is the star of Kerrelyn Sparks new book The Vampire and the Virgin. Born October 21, 1791 and then changed by Agnus at the battlefield ar Cullder in 1846. Robby has been one of the staple characters in the Love at Stake series and a Highlander after my own heart.

The book was started as Robby is healing from the tortured he had endured from the Malcontents in Forbidden Nights with a Vampire. Hell bent on revenge, he was taking a downward spiral that had his family and friends worried. After turning down Emma and Agnus’s gracious offer for a spa, he decides the take a 4 month forced retreat to the Greek Island of Patmos where he finds and falls in love with a Greek Goddess.

FBI psychologist Oliva Sotris was looking for a cool ocean breeze, sand between her toes, and a break from her crazy, chaotic, and sometimes all-to-dangerous life. But when she escaped to the small Greek island of Patomos, all she got were meddling grandmothers trying to marry her off. Can’t they see that none of the men around interests her except Robby McKay?

Robby’s Packing List:
Synthetic Blood
More Synthetic Blood
Jogging clothes (even vamps have to stay in shape)

Robby needs to cool off, too, since all he can think about is revenge on the Malcontent bloodsuckers who once held him captive- but then he meets Olivia, the beauty with wild curls and a tempting smile. When deadly criminals from a case back home tracks her down, Robby will have to save her live- along with giving her a first time she’ll never forget…
Not only does Olivia have powers and troubles of her own she is running from a man who no matter what continues to find her. While talking to her grandmother one night looking through a telescope she spots a man jogging on the beach and falls terribly in lust and eventually love with him
.

I absolutely loved this book! I have been a fan of Kerrelyns’ Love at Stake series for a while and have been desperately awaiting her new release for months. I love that she makes her vampires as human as possible where they can gain weight just like mortals, they have everyday jobs and they aren’t just magically rich, and she even through a in a were here and there.

Coming September 2010 Kerrelyn is coming out with her book #9 in the Love at Stake series titled Eat, Pray, Love. Carlos Panterra must find a were-panther woman for his mate. Take a journey with him across the world as he stalks his prey…and hopes for love. Find more information on about this book and her others at her website www.kerrelynsparks.com .

Keep up the good work, Kerrelyn, I will never get enough of them!
