Highland Honor by Hannah Howell

Would you pass a boy if you were on the run for you life? Neither Gisele, well at least not to a very sexy highlander. In her home country of France she is on the run from her husbands family. With very little help from her own family Gisele faces death or the help of a stranger. She soon learns that when nothing else is as it should he's the one man that she can put her trust in to save her body, mind, and soul.

Nigel Murray ran from a family he country to escape a women he knows he could never have. Waking up face first in the dirt after one of his drunken nights gave him a wake up call, of how he has been lacking in his life. When discovering two people in the woods little did he know this one siteing was all it took to change his life forever.

Nigel Muray saw through her masquerade from the first: a woman trying to pass herself off as a page. It almost worked --until she was unmasked in battle with the English, at the point of a sword. Recklessly, Nigel saved the beauty whose secrets now endangered them both. He spirited her of to Scotland, determined to erase the terror he tasted in her kiss.
Giselle knew the dark side of men, having barley escaped the brutality of her highborn husband, Lord DeVeau. Now, with DeVeau murdered and a price on her head, she was every man's prey-- hunted for a crime she did not commit. Nigel is her only refuge, a handsome stranger whose fiery sensuality burns all fear in its wake. but to truly trust him, Gisele must leave the past behind, and let her heart accept the simple truth-- of his undying love.

I love the vivid imagination that she put behind the husbands death. I have read quite a few of Hannah's Books. Although I am more into paranormal romance, she always seems to keep me intrigued and wanting more. I am a sucker for a hat man with an accent no matter what time period he is written in.
