Rekindled by Mari Carr

It’s been a year since her husband’s passing, and running the ranch is taking its toll on Claire Hutchins. Independent as the day is long, she concedes the need for help. She wants a foreman, an employee to run the day-to-day who can handle a woman calling the shots. Someone who won’t give her any trouble…

Who shows up at her door, first in line for the job? Jeb Carter. Ex-high-school sweetheart. Longtime rodeo star. And the one man capable of making Claire’s lust burn out of control…of making her surrender completely.

Trouble has finally come calling…and he’s as irresistible as ever.

This story was an excellent addition to Spitfire! One of my favorite type of plot lines is love re-united. And with every one I read from Mari my love for it grows stronger.

This was a quick and easy read. That grabs your attention with every word. I love how she made her characters imperfect not only physically but emotionally.

And I love the happy ending. Oh and it is only kinky the first time. (I love when you read a book and get the inside joke) But then again when you meet a great author a good kink is never the same.

Spitfire by Mari Carr

Rem Bradley has loved Liv Carter forever. After his father’s sudden death, Rem comes home for good—ready to reclaim his family’s ranch and his woman. Problem is, the spitfire he finds brawling in the roughest bar in town is not the girl he left behind.

Liv recognizes trouble when she sees it, but she’d be a fool to resist Rem’s seductive demands. Starting in the barn where they’d left off years ago, they use every available body part, plus a toy or two, to bring each other maximum pleasure. To make up for past mistakes, Rem will have to do a hell of a lot more than just satisfy her body—but that’s a damn good start.

Review:

Mari writes some of the best Alpha males I've read. In this quickie you can get into the characters quickly and very easily. I was up till the wee hours of the morning reading this book because I couldn't take my eyes from the screen.

With one Phrase:
“Olivia Carter is officially dead. Killed by a gang of ruthless orgasms. The vicious fuckers attacked her from behind.”

I laughed so hard my sides hurt.

I highly recommend this book. I absolutely loved it. And guess what the sequel just happened to come out. Guess what I am reading next ;-).

Carnal Ecstasy by Lissa Matthews

When good girls go bad, very, very bad…

The minute Carrie meets tattooed, bad-boy bartender Dallon, her decision is made. He’s the one, her ticket to freedom and a new, independent life. She’s tired of dictates and zero dates and following the path laid out before her by her well-meaning-but-completely-out-of touch-with-her-reality religious parents.

Dallon sees the buttoned-up, full-of-curves woman outside the grocery store and feels the flames of hell licking at his heels. When she asks him for directions to the large, nearby university where she’s starting work, his gut-twisting lust for her doesn’t diminish, but those flames start to singe his tough-as-nails hide.

With Dallon’s promise of not sleeping with anyone associated with the university his father is the dean of about to go up in smoke, Carrie takes the first exit off the Heavenly Highway straight onto Sin Street. She wants Dallon to teach her all the things a good girl should never know, and she won’t take Hell no for an answer.

Review:

Okay I gotta give Lissa props for excellent usage of a beer bottle. I don't think I will look at Corona the same again lol. That being said I liked the story. Loved the way she let the good girl be bad but not seem slutty at the same time. And Dallons tattoo on his back I would love to see it as an image. Its sounds really neat.

If your looking for a fast easy read this is the way to go. Not for the faint of heart though. And boy does the man know how to use everyday things to a very naught degree.

This is not my first read for Lissa and it defiantly won't be my last.

Myla By Moonlight by Inez Kelley

Magic bites…

Created at Prince Taric’s birth, Myla is a spell, an enchantment designed to appear and protect him when he needs it most. She has always been content to do her duty…until one night of forbidden passion leaves her longing to experience life—and love—as a mortal woman. Yet the risk is too great. Even if her blood runs as red as his, she can never give him the one thing he needs: a child.

Taric’s blessing—and his curse—is knowing the kingdom’s future depends on his producing an heir to continue the bloodline. His bond with Myla has always been that of protector and protected. When it suddenly becomes something much more, he unwittingly sentences his people to certain death.

An old enemy is plotting to destroy all he holds dear: his lands, his people, his father, and his lover. And this time, even if they fight tooth and blade, their shared magic may not be enough to save them…

Never As It Seems by Shiloh Walker

Three years after he walked away and broke her heart, Leo is back in Chloe’s life and that’s the last place she wants him. Not that she has any choice in the matter. She’s in big trouble. She needs somebody to watch her back, and he’s the “somebody”.

Three years ago, Chloe dumped a bombshell in Leo’s lap. I’m psychic, she told him. As if he was supposed to believe that. His world is black and white, and he doesn’t buy into that mumbo-jumbo. Walking away from her damn near killed him, but he couldn’t be with somebody he couldn’t trust.

His new job? Keep Chloe safe. That’s it. He’s not supposed to touch her. He’s not supposed to make love to her. He’s not supposed to want her…need her…love her. But he can’t stop thinking about her, can’t stop dreaming about her. Now that she’s back in his life, he can’t keep his hands off her either.

Review:

I was pleasant pleased with this story. It flowed easy and was very intriguing. I loved the genre old loves coming together. The author has a way of putting a lot of depth to her characters.

I am loving the psychic angle. Shiloh showed that not everyone sees the world in gray. And just because you don't believe in something doesn't mean that its not true.

I recommend this book. I sure enjoyed it. If you would like more information on this book or any of Shiloh Walkers books visit her website http://www.shilohwalker.com/
